I wish letter writing wasn't a dying art.

Emails hardly make the wonderful memories and slowly unraveling life stories that hand written letters do. Letters get stashed away in a shoebox and hidden until they're needed for comfort, needed for clarity, or passed on to your loved ones so that you can live on forever, your life recreated by what people wrote to you.

Will emails be passed down in via flash drive? When we die will our kids hack our computers to find what relics of us remain? Solve any family mysteries? Disocver what made us human?

Wow! I am getting ready to write my sermon for Sunday, but your words have both humbled and inspired me. Thank you for the encouragement. Sometimes I wonder if folks are listening and if it really makes any difference at all in their lives. Your words are just what I needed to "keep on keeping on." Thank you for all you have given our family. You truly have been a shepherd in our lives, as well.

    Take care,

I promise someday I'll make a trip to DC so I can see for myself what you so poignantly described. I do enjoy reading your blogs! Keep it up!
