Former journalist and public affairs guy now writing when inspiration strikes.
Prior to moving to Washington to serve as a communications director for a land conservation organization, I ran Better World Public Relations -- an Atlanta-based firm specializing in serving the nonprofit sector.
My career in PR began with the Georgia office of the Trust for Public Land (TPL). I spent a brief stint in between TPL and Better World at a private sector PR firm.
I entered the PR field after working for many years as a journalist, first as managing editor of a Spanish and English-language newspaper in Atlanta and then as a freelance journalist writing for a variety of national and local publications.
I earned my journalism degree from the University of Georgia. Upon graduation, I moved to Alaska after hitting it with a blind throw of a dart. I called Delta five months later when the first snow storm arrived. I later lived in Spain for more than a year, teaching English in Valencia.
